Why train in Calicut

Calicut is where Vision started. The campus opened on 28 October 2009 with one classroom and a handful of students, and everything the school has become since was built here first.

Calicut International Airport at Karipur is the Malabar region's link to the Gulf, and a large share of its traffic is the route our students end up working on. Training within reach of a working international airport means industrial visits are a morning out rather than an expedition.

The Malabar coast sends more people into Gulf aviation than almost anywhere else in India. If your family already has someone working in Dubai, Doha or Muscat, you have seen this career from the inside. This campus exists to get you the certification that turns it into a profession rather than a job.

Nearest airport

Calicut International Airport (CCJ), about 28 km from the campus.

Finding us

Royal Plaza Building on Mavoor Road, at Mavoor Road Junction, opposite the KSRTC bus stand. Kozhikode railway station is about two kilometres away and every city bus route passes the junction.

Comparing institutes

Looking for the best aviation institute in Calicut?

Every institute will tell you it is the best one. These are the five things that actually differ between them, and our honest answer to each. Run the same list past anyone else you are considering.

Is it an IATA Authorised Training Centre?
Vision is, and sits in IATA's Premier Circle. Ask any institute for the certificate number; an authorised centre will give it to you without hesitating.
How long has it been in Calicut?
Since 28 October 2009. This is the campus Vision started in, which means the people who built the course have taught it here the longest.
Who actually teaches?
Faculty who have worked in airlines and airports, not only academics. Ask to meet the person who will teach you before you pay anything.
What happens after the course?
A career support team at this campus runs inductions, counselling and mock interviews, and introduces students to recruiting airlines, airports and ground handlers.
What do students actually say?
Read the Google reviews for the Mavoor Road campus rather than the testimonials on any website, this one included.

Our Calicut campus has over 100 Google reviews at an average of 4.3. We would rather you read those, and visited two or three institutes, than took our word for it. Admissions will not push you: come and see the place first.

Questions about Calicut

Asked often at this campus.

Is the Calicut campus the main one?

It is the original. Vision opened here in 2009 and the Kochi campus became the head office later, but Calicut runs the full range of courses and has its own admissions and career support team.

How far is Calicut airport from the campus?

Calicut International Airport at Karipur is about 28 km from Mavoor Road, roughly an hour by road depending on traffic.

Do you teach in Malayalam?

Classes are taught in English, because that is the working language of the industry, but our faculty explain in Malayalam whenever it helps. Counselling is in whichever language you are comfortable with.
